U.S. Representative Paul Gosar (R-Goodyear) issued his weekly newsletter on December 21, 2025, offering Christmas greetings and updates on recent legislative activities and policy positions.
In his message to constituents, Gosar extended holiday wishes: “As we celebrate the birth of our Savior, my family and I want to wish each of you a joyful and blessed Christmas season. This is a time to pause, give thanks, and reflect on the enduring values that bind us together.” He also expressed gratitude for service members and first responders spending the holidays away from their families: “I am deeply grateful to the men and women in uniform, our first responders, and all those who must spend the holidays away from loved ones in service to others. Please know you are in our prayers.”
The newsletter included an editorial originally published in Chronicles Magazine regarding oversight of healthcare executives. Gosar argued that Congress should require healthcare CEOs to testify about industry practices under federal programs such as the Affordable Care Act (ACA). He wrote: “Congress has both the authority and the obligation to conduct oversight when federally regulated industries profit at the expense of the American people.” Gosar criticized health insurers for profiting from taxpayer subsidies while denying care, exploiting regulatory loopholes, increasing executive compensation amid rising costs for consumers, and contributing to market consolidation. He added: “Obamacare has become one of the largest taxpayer pipelines in the entire U.S. economy. $9 trillion in taxpayer-funded revenue has flowed to health insurers under Obamacare. Yet instead of delivering affordable, accessible care, the ACA has produced record corporate profit, massive executive compensation, considerable fraud and widespread denial of care.”
Gosar announced progress on his legislation H.R. 1043—the La Paz County Solar Energy and Job Creation Act—which would transfer 3,400 acres of Bureau of Land Management land to La Paz County for renewable energy development. The bill recently passed both chambers of Congress and awaits President Trump’s signature. Gosar emphasized its significance: “My latest legislative victory is vital to the financial future of La Paz County and concentrates on the continued goal of creating and enlarging the county’s job and energy hub.”
He also highlighted recognition by the U.S. Department of Education granting Grand Canyon University nonprofit status after years of debate with federal officials. Gosar commented: “I applaud the U.S. Department of Education for finally doing what should have been done years ago: recognizing Grand Canyon University as the nonprofit institution it is.”
Additionally, he reported that installation work began on a border wall segment in Nogales, Arizona.
The newsletter featured constituent correspondence supporting renewable energy initiatives as well as criticism regarding former President Donald Trump; Gosar responded directly within his publication.
Paul Gosar has maintained electoral support in recent cycles; he won re-election in 2024 against Quacy Smith with over 65% of votes cast (https://ballotpedia.org/Paul_Gosar), following a significant victory over Richard Grayson in 2022.
The publication concluded with links to media coverage about Gosar’s legislative efforts and statements clarifying that external articles do not necessarily represent his views.
