U.S. Representative Paul Gosar (R-Goodyear) provided an update on his recent legislative and oversight activities in a newsletter released on January 25, 2026.
Gosar highlighted progress in La Paz County following the passage of his bill, H.R. 1043, the La Paz County Solar Energy and Jobs Creation Act. According to Gosar, “Since my legislation, H.R. 1043…was signed into law by President Trump,it has already begun delivering real results for our community.” He reported touring project sites and noted that the law unlocks federal land for solar energy and storage projects, aiming to create jobs and boost local control.
He also mentioned that after contacting Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, the Bureau of Land Management approved the final Notice to Proceed for these projects. Gosar stated this milestone “clears the way for full project development.”
In addition to energy initiatives, Gosar discussed legislative movement regarding wildlife management. His bill, H.R. 4255—the Enhancing Safety for Animals Act—passed out of the House Natural Resources Committee. The measure seeks to delist the Mexican wolf from Endangered Species Act protections and return management authority to state and local entities. Gosar said: “The bill recognizes the successful recovery of the Mexican wolf after decades of conservation efforts and reaffirms that the Endangered Species Act is not a one-way ratchet.”
House Committee on Natural Resources Chairman Bruce Westerman supported this move: “The Enhancing Safety for Animals Act of 2025 delists the Mexican wolf from the Endangered Species Act and ensures that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service considers the species status only in the United States when formulating future recovery plans. I applaud Rep. Gosar for ensuring that American laws prioritize the needs of the American people.”
Gosar addressed bipartisan action in Congress as well, noting his vote with members from both parties to hold Bill and Hillary Clinton in contempt over their response to subpoenas related to an investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s network.
On other matters, Gosar announced he received an A+ rating from Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America’s National Pro-Life Scorecard for 2025: “This recognition reflects my consistent record of voting to protect innocent life, oppose taxpayer-funded abortion, and stand up to the abortion industry—including Planned Parenthood.”
He praised President Donald Trump’s first year back in office: “America is stronger, safer, and more prosperous—because President Trump and Republicans in Congress have delivered real results together.”
The newsletter included responses to constituent letters about youth programs like Scouting America as well as calls regarding impeachment proceedings against Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
In correspondence about Scouting America’s mission amid changes involving diversity initiatives (DEI), Gosar responded: “Programs branded as ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion’ (DEI) are not only unlawful under recent Supreme Court precedent, but they also undermine equal enforcement of the law…Scouting was never about government-imposed ideology but about building character…”
To another constituent advocating impeachment against Secretary Noem over ICE-related concerns, Gosar replied: “I stand firmly and unapologetically with ICE…Calls to impeach Secretary Noem are not about accountability; they are about obstructing immigration enforcement through political intimidation…We must enforce our immigration laws…”
The newsletter closed with links to news articles covering various national topics.
Paul Gosar was reelected in both 2022—defeating Richard Grayson—and again in 2024 by defeating Quacy Smith with over sixty-five percent of votes cast (https://ballotpedia.org/Paul_Gosar).
