Arizona State Representative Leo Biasiucci posted a series of tweets on September 2, 2025, addressing local fuel regulations, tax burdens on lottery winnings, and the impact of interest rates on homeownership.

In a morning tweet, Biasiucci explained price differences in gasoline across Arizona counties: “The reason is because Maricopa County requires a special blend of gasoline that is more environmental friendly than the other blends in Arizona. They use this blend every summer because of air quality. This is why, on average, every other county in Arizona is cheaper.” (September 2, 2025).

Later that evening, he commented on tax deductions from lottery jackpots: “Just to show you how insane our taxes have become: If you were to win the $1 billion powerball jackpot, the lump sum amount you would receive would only be $270 million dollars after all taxes. If you went the route of payments, you would receive around $600 million.” (September 2, 2025).

Biasiucci also discussed mortgage interest rates and their effects on prospective homeowners: “The continued delay to lower interest rates is stopping hard working Americans from buying a home. Look at how much you would pay in JUST INTEREST alone on a 30 year mortgage: 500k @ 7.5%= $758,000; 500k @ 3.5%=$308,000; A WHOPPING $450,000 EXTRA IN JUST INTEREST!” (September 2, 2025).

Biasiucci was elected as a Republican representative for Arizona’s 30th House District in 2023 after succeeding Robert Meza.
