Congressman Paul A. Gosar (AZ-09) has expressed his approval following President Donald J. Trump’s signing of H.R. 1043, known as the La Paz County Solar Energy and Jobs Creation Act. The legislation, introduced by Gosar, aims to facilitate energy development and job creation in La Paz County through the conveyance of federal land for solar energy projects.
“This is a major win for my constituents in La Paz County. President Trump’s signature on H.R. 1043 delivers real results—expanding domestic energy production, creating good-paying jobs, and strengthening local control. This law puts La Paz County on a path to grow its economy while advancing reliable energy. This achievement builds on more than a decade of my related legislative victories, including the 2019 La Paz County Land Conveyance Act, which establishes the county as a regional energy hub,” said Congressman Gosar.
The new law enables La Paz County to acquire federal land to support solar power generation and storage initiatives. Gosar emphasized that this approach promotes economic opportunities while considering local interests.
“I’m grateful to President Trump for signing my bill into law. This is exactly how Washington should work—delivering practical solutions that directly benefit the people we represent,” stated Congressman Gosar.
Paul Gosar has demonstrated electoral strength in recent years, winning against Quacy Smith in the 2024 general election with over 65% of the vote and defeating Richard Grayson in 2022 with nearly 98%.
