Former District 5 Supervisor Rebecca L. Foster has announced she plans to seek the Republican nomination for the District 1 Mohave County Supervisor seat left empty by the upcoming retirement of Gary Watson.
“Supervisor Watson’s retirement presents an opportunity to run for the position which comprises much of the district I used to represent in the original District 5,” Foster said in a news release announcing her candidacy. “I am the only candidate running who has actual experience as a county supervisor and I am running because I absolutely love the job and can provide excellent representation.”
A resident of Kingman, Foster joins a crowded field that already includes Travis Lingenfelter, Jim Hamersley, Tim Woods and Gerarda Hamodey, all of whom have already announced their candidacies.
While her previous time on the board was served as a Democrat, Foster said her values have always been conservative, adding that the local GOP is “accepting, friendly and diverse.”
