The Mohave County Elections Department is not doubting the outcome of the Nov. 3 election but has refused to certify the vote.
Mohave County cast 78,535 votes for Donald Trump versus 24,831 votes for Joe Biden.
“[T]he county board of supervisors decided to delay approval of the official election canvass as a sign of solidarity with the election recount effort happening in the state and in the nation,” according to the Mohave Miner.
Arizona’s latest vote tally shows Joe Biden leading Donald Trump by over 10,000 votes.
A spate of legal challenges and a recount effort are underway in the state.
“There are lawsuits all over the place on everything, and that’s part of the reason why I’m in no big hurry to canvass the election,” Supervisor Ron Gould told the Associated Press.
