Karrin Taylor Robson has surged into 2nd place and considerably closed the gap with Kari Lake in Arizona’s race for the GOP gubernatorial nomination, according to an independent survey released today by pollster Mike Noble of OH Predictive Insights. The survey of 500 Arizona likely GOP primary voters was conducted April 4-5, 2022.
Taylor Robson has climbed 16 percentage points since the last OH Predictive Insights survey in mid-January, and now trails Lake by just 7 points. GOP candidates Matt Salmon (11%) and Steve Gaynor (3%) have slipped in the polls and lag significantly.
“I entered this campaign knowing I would have to introduce myself to voters because I didn’t spend decades in the mainstream media like Kari Lake. But the momentum is now ours in this race, and we’re just getting started,” said Taylor Robson. “I am incredibly gratified by how Arizona Republicans are rallying around our campaign’s conservative vision, beginning with my detailed, 6-point plan to finally secure the border.”
Support for Lake is virtually unchanged since November, when she registered 28% backing in the OH Predictive Insights survey. By comparison, Taylor Robson was nearly unknown among voters at that early stage in the campaign, but in the months since has pulled within a handful of points of Lake by crisscrossing the state meeting with conservative groups and dominating the airwaves. Taylor Robson is the only candidate for Governor on broadcast, cable and radio in order to reach Republican voters across every corner of Arizona.
“This race is going to continue to tighten in the weeks ahead,” Taylor Robson said. “Republicans are just beginning to learn about Kari Lake’s erratic track record backing liberals like Barack Obama and Merrick Garland, as well as her support for a radical plan to grant mass amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants. We cannot afford a political opportunist or closet liberal at a time when Arizona faces major threats to our way of life – from the cartel-fueled chaos at our border to Joe Biden and the radical Left in Washington. I am the true conservative fighter Arizona can trust to get the job done.
