On February 13, 2022, Animal Control Officers were requested to respond to a vehicle rollover on Highway 93 at milepost 148. Two dogs had been involved in the incident. One of the dogs was removed from the vehicle, however the other dog ran off.
Over the next few weeks, AC Officers spent hours in the area searching for the other dog, named Bubba. DPS Troopers were also attempting to locate Bubba by leaving steaks in the area. AC Officer Keitz even took her female dog to search the area as a way to potentially draw Bubba to them.
On Saturday (5/7), AC Officers were contacted by DPS Troopers, who had located Bubba. He was extremely dehydrated and malnourished, but alive. Bubba was driven to his owner’s house in Topock by AC Officers on Sunday for a Mother’s Day reunion. We were thrilled to reunite Bubba with his owners and wish him a speedy recovery.
