The Lake Havasu City Police Department would like to remind the community of an easy-to-use crisis service line called 988. The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a free, confidential phone line available 24/7 that connects individuals in crisis with trained counselors. This service can provide a more discrete level of assistance to people who may be experiencing mental health-related distress and are not necessarily wanting police assistance at their residences.
No matter where you live in the United States, you can reach a trained and compassionate crisis counselor who can help by simply calling or texting 988. The intervention services can assist anyone with thoughts of suicide, mental health or substance use crisis, or any other kind of emotional distress. Services can also be found at 988lifeline.org.
