Received funding from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety

Sheriff Doug Schuster is pleased to announce that the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office has received funding from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to purchase two Intoxilyzer 9000 devices and additional funding for personnel overtime related to DUI enforcement, for a total of $27,240.00

Currently, the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office utilizes the Intoxilyzer 8000 to determine a driver’s blood alcohol content if impairment is suspected. The Sheriff’s Office has multiple 8000 units stationed throughout Mohave County. By the year 2025, the Intoxilyzer 8000 will no longer be supported. This grant funding will help us to continue upgrading our equipment to the recommended unit.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to strong, proactive DUI enforcement. Our goal is to decrease the number of impaired driving related incidents and ensure safer driving conditions for our citizens. The additional funding for overtime details will assist us in having extra deputies on patrol during holiday weekends and special events to deter impaired driving.

Sheriff Schuster would like to thank Director Gutier and the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for their continued support of the safety of Mohave County and its citizens.
