The Mesa Police Traffic Unit will be leading the second phase of Operation Safer Streets during June and July. Officers will be focusing on speeding, distracted driving, unsafe vehicle operations and pedestrian violations at various days and times

During June and July, the Mesa Police Traffic Unit will be leading the second phase of Operation Safer Streets. This will be a selective enforcement detail targeting driving behaviors that are contributing factors of fatal and serious injury collisions. In 2022, there were 44 fatal collisions in the City of Mesa. Officers will be concentrating on contributing factors such as speeding, distracted driving, unsafe vehicle operations, and pedestrian violations. This enforcement detail will occur at various days and times. We encourage the public to obey all traffic laws and especially want them to put down their electronic devices while driving, slow down, be aware of other vehicles, motorcycles, and pedestrians entering their pathway, and don’t drive impaired.
