Take a trip through history while exploring iconic signage from Tempe’s past. Tempe History Museum's new featured exhibit, "Tempe Signs," features local business signage from the permanent collection of the museum, as well as loans from other public and private collections.

"Tempe Signs" shows how signs can be iconic to a community, bringing back memories of beloved businesses and reminding us how the visual landscape of a city changes over time.

In addition to physical signs, the exhibit will feature historic sign photography on a three-screen video loop, an interactive storymap to explore signs by location and contemporary art by Manny Burruel, Mike Butzine, and Douglas Towne, local artists whose work is inspired by signs.

Opening reception info:

When: Thursday, Sept. 14, 6-8 p.m.

Where: Tempe History Museum, 809 E. Southern Ave.
