CHANDLER, Ariz. – “Ending the Stigma: A Teen Mental Health Summit” is a program designed by teens for teens to help and support them as they navigate today’s challenges. “Ending the Stigma” looks to bring mental health awareness to teenagers, parents, educators, advocates and communities throughout Chandler. It will be held on Friday, Oct. 6 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Chandler Community Center. This summit is free to attend and is geared towards teens from 12 to 19 years old.
Attendees will participate in a day-long summit full of influential speakers, break-out sessions, a provided lunch and three workshops led by the mental health experts from event partners Semicolon Society, Laloboy Foundation and Crossroads Discovery. Participants will tour the Teen Area/Makers Space at the Downtown Library and the Chandler Fire Department Crisis Unit area. They will also participate in a yoga breathing demonstration/exercise to aid in developing and maintaining positive mental health strategies.
After the powerful workshops and activities, the day will end with a resource expo with numerous vendors providing information and essential resources to lead toward a healthy and successful path.
