CHANDLER, Ariz. – Chandler’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Division invites the community to its Diwali Festival of Lights celebration on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park: Stage Plaza, 178 E. Commonwealth Ave. Diwali is one of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, symbolizing the spiritual "victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.”
At the free community event, Kriti Dance, ABCD School of Dance, Desert Dancers, along with dozens of other performers, will grace the outdoor downtown stage to feature Bollywood, Rajasthani, Kuchipudi and Kathak dance. The event’s entertainment schedule is available online at Chandler Diwali Festival of Lights.
A variety of delicious food will be available for purchase from Biryani Pot Chandler, Curry Junction, Desi Gaadi, Pakka Local – Sweet Magic on Wheels and Rain Cafe. There also will be booths sharing information on free community resources and several cultural vendors including Arya Dezignz; Bhaktivendanta Cultural Center Iskon of Phoenix; Meraaki Handmade; and Ruha Creationz.
