TEMPE, Ariz. - Join the Consulate General of Mexico in Phoenix for the Día de los Muertos ofrenda, hosted at Tempe History Museum, Oct. 25 - Nov. 2.
An opening celebration to unveil the exhibition will be held on Oct. 25 at 5 p.m. The event will feature music, dancing and remarks from elected officials.
The ofrenda is inspired by the state of Michoácan and will be presented by the Mexican artist Monica Gisel Crespo.
This exhibition will be displayed as part of the celebration of El Día de los Muertos, a vibrant festivity that takes place in different regions of Mexico. In it, people celebrate the temporary return of their deceased relatives and loved ones. Community members are invited to bring photos for the altar.
Tempe History Museum is located on the southwest corner of Southern Avenue and Rural Road at 809 E. Southern Ave. Visit the ofrenda Oct. 26-Nov. 2 during museum's hours of 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., Tuesday - Saturday.
