TEMPE, Ariz. – Every year, one of the most important things a city does is plan and pass an annual operating and capital budget. Tempe’s budget covers all services and programs for residents, including recreation and cultural programs, trash and recycling, streets, parks, transportation options and public safety. The budget is a reflection of community priorities, which is why Tempe needs community input to help allocate the funds.
The city is formulating the operating and capital budgets for fiscal year 2024-25, which begins on July 1, 2024. Here’s how community members can get involved.
Take the online survey Feb. 1 – March 6, 2024:
What matters most to you? Spend a theoretical $100 on Tempe programs and services – like art projects, special events and street and sidewalk maintenance. The survey is open Feb. 1 to March 6 at tempe.gov/forum
Attend a budget forum on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024:
- Virtual: Tuesday, Feb. 6, noon, register for Zoom meeting here.
- In Person: Tuesday, Feb. 6, 6 p.m., Tempe History Museum, 809 E. Southern Ave.
