Congressman Paul Gosar, representing Arizona's 9th District, has expressed his support for the recently passed H.R. 471, known as the Fix Our Forests Act. The legislation aims to reform forest management practices and improve wildfire response efforts.

Gosar highlighted the frequent occurrence of wildfires in Arizona and pointed to ongoing fires in California as a reminder of preventable risks. He criticized what he described as "forest-rabid environmentalists" for opposing measures such as thinning forests and removing fuel that are supported by scientific evidence.

The Fix Our Forests Act intends to streamline environmental reviews, reduce costs, and shorten planning times for essential forest management projects. It also focuses on forests at high risk of wildfires and seeks to enhance the health and resilience of American forests through active management strategies.

"This legislation is a much-needed step in managing our forests and reducing the threat of wildfires," stated Congressman Gosar.
