Congressman Paul A. Gosar, representing Arizona's Ninth Congressional District, has extended an invitation to high school students within the district to participate in the 2025 Congressional Art Competition. The competition is open to students from grades 8 through 12, including those enrolled in homeschool, online schools, or alternative learning programs.
In his statement, Congressman Gosar expressed enthusiasm for the event: “I am pleased to announce the 2025 Congressional Art Competition and extend an invitation to all high school students with Arizona’s 9th Congressional district in grades 8th-12th including those in homeschool, online schools, or alternative learning programs to participate. My office will be accepting submissions until Friday, April 11, 2025."
The annual art competition is sponsored by the Congressional Institute and aims to recognize and encourage artistic talent across the nation and within each congressional district. Since its inception in 1982 as the Artistic Discovery competition, over 650,000 high school students have participated.
The winning artwork from this year's competition will be displayed for one year at the United States Capitol. Congressman Gosar emphasized the importance of this opportunity: "The Congressional Art Competition is a great opportunity to encourage and showcase the incredibly talented high school artists from Arizona.”
