The downward trend in confirmed COVID-19 cases in Lake Havasu City and Mohave County have Mayor Cal Sheehy encouraged, but the Labor Day holiday weekend, school reopening and the approaching flu season are a concern.
Sheehy extended face mask requirements until Thursday, Oct. 15 for any residents or visitors inside a business within Lake Havasu City, the Lake Havasu City website reported.
"I applaud the citizens of Lake Havasu City for doing their part to help slow the spread of the virus. We must continue to take all necessary mitigation steps until our children can attend in-person learning and our businesses that are closed under Gov. Doug Ducey's executive order can reopen," Sheehy said, the Lake Havasu City website reported.
To reduce the spread of the coronavirus, Sheehy encouraged everyone to wear a face mask and practice social distancing whenever they can. The voluntary measure can help reduce the risk of infection for family, friends and the most vulnerable people in the community, the website reported.
