Mohave Community College (MCC) is continuing their mission, in conjunction with Mohave and La Paz counties, to bring post-high school education to more than 60% of the state, according to a press release on the school's website.
After meeting to discuss the progress so far, the parties decided to continue with their work together in hopes of improving access to education and improving the economic outlook of the state through providing high-quality education and degrees.
“It’s exciting to see such a variety of people dedicated to this goal. The positive work done here will ripple through our communities for generations to come,” said Carolyn Hamblin, dean of Student and Community Engagement on Bullhead City campus.
The coalition that has been gathered to help further this mission consists of various leaders from around the state including educators, politicians, students and student organizations. At the statewide meeting that occurred this month, leaders broke out into small groups to discuss specific aspects of their goal and how it could be achieved. The parties are expected to continue to work together years into the future to help further education awareness and access for those coming out of high school.
