City of Kingman issued the following announcement on Jan. 5.
The 10-member Mohave County West Basin Water Users Study Committee has issued its final report (429 pages to an outside Google Drive link), with the inclusion of its recommendations.
Kingman Mayor Jen Miles, a member of the 10-person Committee, said, “This in-depth report is the culmination of two years of work by this committee, with ten recommendations we believe will frame legislative efforts regarding groundwater sustainability in our region. The City of Kingman will continue to strongly support Representative Regina Cobb’s legislation in the upcoming session to create a Rural Management Area (RMA) and other components related to rural water conservation. An RMA would create a local stakeholder forum that can unite voices in recommending appropriate actions regarding groundwater to the Department of Water Resources, Governor and others.”
