City of Lake Havasu City issued the following announcement on Jan. 19.
On Friday, January 14, 2022, at approximately 10:48 a.m., the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a three-vehicle crash on S.R. 95 at Acoma Blvd. South. It was determined that a motorcoach with two occupants traveling northbound on S.R. 95, approaching the stoplight at Acoma Blvd. South failed to stop and rear-ended a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which struck a third vehicle, a 2019 Lincoln Navigator. The three occupants of the Jeep Grand Cherokee were extricated from the vehicle by the Lake Havasu Fire Dept. All three occupants were transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center, where one patient was later flown to University Medical Center in Las Vegas. No injuries were reported from the other vehicles involved in the crash.
The Lake Havasu City’s Crash Investigation team responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Speed was determined to be the cause of the crash. There were no indicators that drugs or alcohol were a factor.
The crash remains under investigation.
