1,099 New COVID-19 Cases Since Wednesday, August 3, 2022 Also: 17 Deaths Reported County in Low Transmission Category

The Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff has been notified of 1,099 new confirmed COVID-19 cases reported since Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at noon. COVID-19 transmission in Mohave County is in the low transmission category according to the CDC Dashboard. ADHS continues to review and audit case/death-related data, and as a result, numbers may fluctuate above or below previously reported. Weekly reported cases have decreased week over week from the last published report. Weekly reported deaths have increased.

The total number of reported deaths since the last COVID-19 report is seventeen. Of that number, 14 are previously reported deaths, 3 new reported deaths. Mohave County has been categorized by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as an area of low COVID 19 transmission. Transmission rate is categorized by the CDC using a combination of three metrics - new COVID-19 admissions per 100,000 population, the percent of staffed inpatient beds occupied by COVID-19 patients, and total new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population in the past 7 days Note that deaths are counted by the week of diagnosis and deaths by month may increase as there is often a lag between when a death occurs and when it is reported.

The ATTACHED Fact Sheet in this report shows considerably more detailed information and explanations on the data. The next report will be on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.
