Officer Michael Thornhill has been a dedicated officer with the Lake Havasu City Police Department

Officer Michael Thornhill has been a dedicated officer with the Lake Havasu City Police Department for over 15 years and currently serves as a certified watercraft operator as part of the Community Services Unit. He is a member of the Dive team, a Crisis Negotiator, the lead Explorer Advisor, and the lead member of the Honor Guard. He is also the department’s BOLA Wrap instructor and a Master TASER Instructor.

Officer Thornhill has been instrumental in providing leadership to the youth in the department’s Explorer Program by demonstrating the necessary skills, character, and ethics needed to be a police officer. In addition to the Explorer Program, he organizes and leads one of the only stress-induced academies in the area for youth around the state known as the H.E.A.T. (Havasu Explorer Academy Training)

Time and time again, he has proven to be an asset to the department, as well as a solid representative in our community that demonstrates the core values the department strives to fulfill every day.

Officer Thornhill has served in the United States Marine Corps for 14 years and is now serving with the 161st Unit of the Air National Guard as a Staff Sergeant Crew Chief for the KC-135 Aircraft.

He is married and has 3 children and is the head coach of his youngest son’s youth baseball team in Lake Havasu City.

Congratulations Officer Thornhill!
