Mohave Community College, the MCC Foundation, the Kingman Chamber and ARIZONA@WORK are launching the inaugural Bighorn Trek event and are asking for community members to attend.
The goal of Bighorn Trek is to bring community members, students and business leaders together with a singular purpose – help improve lives and our community. Bighorn Trek is from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 20 at MCC’s Neal Campus-Kingman, 1971 Jagerson Ave. and free to the public. The atmosphere will be fun and casual with music, food, a job fair, and the Show and Shine Car Show
“This event is a way to highlight all the great things we have to offer here in Mohave County,” MCC Vice President of Student & Community Engagement Dr. Tramaine Rausaw, who also serves as dean of the Kingman campus. “Business, charitable organizations, educational organizations, and governmental agencies are going to be in one location to provide community members with all the resources offered in the region.”
Attendees will learn how the college and local businesses can help them get on the path to good careers with family-sustaining salaries.
There will be an opportunity to meet with college instructors and local businesses who can explain the skills needed to become successful. There will also be a job fair highlighting current openings throughout the area.
Businesses that will be attending the event include Arizona Complete Health, Restoration 1 of Mohave County, Grand Canyon Resort Corporation, Elwood Staffing, Foothills Bank, Anderson Ford Kingman, Zubrick T-Shirts, Ant Farm Construction and much more. Food trucks will be onsite including Gyros 2 Go, Majik Milkshakes, Big Island Grill, Fatty’s Catering, Teal Taco, Hook’d on Poke, Victoria’s Sugar Shack and more.
MCC and other educational institutions will be promoting the numerous programs and pathways that are available to the public, as well as helping people to connect with potential employers upon completion of their current course of study. Governmental agencies will be able to share the great services that they have to support our community, as well as continue to network positive partnership opportunities with other participants.
