Mohave Community College serving up Culinary classes and more in Northern Arizona and Southern Utah

Mohave Community College is now offering Culinary classes at the North Mohave Campus, which serves northern Arizona and southern Utah.

The two-day classes are five hours each day and you will learn how to cook a 5-star recipe from Executive Chef Rena Pavilonis in each class.

“I spent most of my adult life in rural Montana learning the practical skills of ranching including gardening, harvesting, and preserving foods, vaccinating cows and trimming horse hooves,” said Chef Renae. “I now have a fulfilling career in Culinary Arts, including Executive Chef and Caterer and my classic French training has stood me well and is the base for my adventurous cooking style. Since moving to Colorado City my focus has been on sharing my passion of cooking with others. In my class, we will enjoy our accomplishments by sharing meals made by our own hands. Can’t wait to meet you!”

These fun and insightful classes are taught through MCC’s Community Education non-credit division and are held at Bee’s Marketplace, 1045 S Central St, Colorado City, AZ 86021.

To see the class times and descriptions about the meals you will learn in each session, and sign up for the classes, please visit the College’s online Community Education class registration site at CE.Mohave.edu, and then click the Life and Leisure option and follow the prompts to the Culinary classes.  If you have questions, please contact Chef Renae at RPavilonis@Mohave.edu.

Along with Community Education non-credit classes, MCC offers more than college 80 degree and certificate options.  It is a comprehensive community college serving students throughout western Arizona and neighboring communities in California, Nevada and Utah. The college has three primary pathways for students:

  • Workforce & Regional Development
  • General Education & Transfer
  • Health, Public Safety & Human Services Professions
Under these three pathways students have access to more than 40 college programs, in which students receive the skills training and education needed for rewarding careers, as well as the academic foundation to transfer their MCC associate degree credits to a university where they may enter as a junior and complete a bachelor’s degree. The college has seamless credit transfers to nearly two dozen university partners, including Dixie State and Southern Utah University.
