Gilbert, Ariz. - In 2022, 425 people died in Maricopa County due to the heat.

That’s a 25% increase in heat-related deaths from 2021.

More than half of the deaths occurred in the month of July last year and 56% of individuals who succumbed to the heat were homeless.

Gilbert is asking for the community's help again this year to support the Heat Relief Network, a regional donation drive that provides hydration and refuge for the Valley's most vulnerable populations during the hot summer months.
