CHANDLER, Ariz. – What makes Chandler unique? Is it our agricultural roots or our forward-thinking innovation? Maybe it’s the ostrich, our unofficial mascot, or even our famous athletes, like Zora Folley? Perhaps it is all of these and more that make up the cultural fabric of this wonderful city.

With this exhibition, Chandler Museum invites you on an alphabetical journey that celebrates the sense of community and culture of our city. Each of the 26 topics, one per alphabet letter, were thoughtfully chosen to tell the story of Chandler. The 2,000-square-foot exhibition opens on December 19, 2023.

From diamond-cutting tools that workers used at the Harry Winston factory to a dress worn during Chandler’s Jubilee 50th anniversary celebration, each object will tell an interesting fact about the history of this city. Visitors will also see a Williams Air Force Base flight suit and learn about the base’s special ties to Chandler.

“For this exhibition, we wanted to focus on the many wonderful objects in our collection,” says Museum Curator, Jillian Nakornthap. She added, “Our hope is that people will walk away learning something new about Chandler or viewing an object from our collection that they’ve never seen before.”

“Chandler A to Z” will be on display at the Chandler Museum from December 19, 2023 to October 13, 2024. Chandler Museum is located at 300 S. Chandler Village Drive. It is open Tuesday-Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday 1-5 p.m. and closed on Mondays. Admission is free. Find more information on the exhibitions and programming online at Chandler Museum or call 480-782-2717.
