Presented by the Tempe Community Arts team, Dance Tempe will premiere six pieces created by artists Carley Conder, Shayla Eshelman and Luis “Weezy” Egurrola during their fall 2023 residencies in Tempe high schools. The showcase will also feature additional pieces by each high school and performances by the Resident Artists’ professional companies.

About the High School Dance Residencies

The Dance Tempe Residency Program serves all six Tempe Union High School District dance departments by bringing in local professional dance artists to teach workshops to all grades and prepare choreography for the advanced classes, culminating in the “Dance Tempe” showcase. The program aims to create memorable learning experiences for students while deepening the connection between aspiring young dancers, like-minded peers and professionals. The residency also supports local artists in their careers by providing a platform to inspire, share and be heard.
