Now expanded! Last year's escape room was a smashing success, so we've made it bigger and better! To reserve a chance to escape the room at FanCon, register in-person starting at 9:45 a.m. the day of the event. We'll also host the escape room after FanCon starting Jan. 28 through Feb. 2, with registration available online for these dates beginning the day of FanCon.

Comics are cool! Here's why...

Comics and graphic novels can encourage literacy and boost reading skills in many ways:

  • Images provide the context necessary to help build vocabulary for ESL & reluctant readers.
  • The slow pace of analyzing images and pausing in between panels encourages time to reflect and builds reading comprehension.
  • Colorful graphics and exciting story lines can captivate attention span & interest of all ages.
That's why Tempe Public Library's librarians love reading of ANY kind!
