Congressman Paul A. Gosar, representing Arizona's 9th district, has voted to hold Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, in contempt of Congress. Hunter Biden had been issued a lawful subpoena to testify before Congress on December 13, 2023, but failed to appear.
In a statement, Congressman Gosar said, "Today, I voted to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress for intentionally violating a lawfully issued subpoena last month. The rule of law applies to everyone, including Joe Biden or his son. Hunter Biden willfully ignoring lawful subpoenas related to his role in his father's abuse of power and corruption scandal is nothing short of obstruction of justice."
Gosar emphasized that a congressional subpoena is not a mere request; it is a command that must be obeyed. He expressed his concern that those who are accustomed to evading the law may view the subpoena as optional.
"There is ample and growing evidence connecting Joe Biden to Hunter’s influence peddling and shady business deals. The American people want and deserve to know the truth. Rather than thumb his nose to Congress, Hunter Biden must answer questions about his involvement in cashing in on the Biden name," Gosar added.
The Congressman concluded by stating that Hunter Biden's actions constitute contempt of Congress and called for his prosecution. He referenced previous cases where individuals, such as Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro, were found in contempt of Congress and faced legal consequences.
The vote to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress highlights the ongoing scrutiny surrounding his business dealings and potential influence peddling. As the investigation continues, the American people await answers regarding the allegations against the President's son.
