Representative Gosar made headlines this week for his stance on the reauthorization of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). In a recent newsletter, he stated, "This week, I voted against legislation reauthorizing Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) for two more years." Gosar expressed concerns about the potential violation of Americans' rights with warrantless surveillance under FISA.

Regarding the reauthorization of FISA, Gosar highlighted the results of a flash poll he conducted with his newsletter readers, stating, "2216 (96%) urged that I vote against reauthorizing FISA." He emphasized that warrantless surveillance of Americans under Section 702 is a clear overreach of authority and a violation of the Fourth Amendment.

In response to a question about adding a citizenship question to the census, Gosar criticized Democrats, stating, "Not surprisingly, every Democrat on the committee voted against this commonsense legislation." He raised concerns about states benefiting from increased representation due to counting illegal aliens in the census.

Additionally, Gosar celebrated the passage of the EXPLORE Act, which aims to improve access to outdoor recreation on public lands. He also highlighted the passing of H.R. 1829, a bill to build a veterans center in Gila County, Arizona, emphasizing support for veterans in northern Arizona.

Furthermore, Gosar hosted a successful Military Academy Day for high school juniors and seniors interested in receiving a congressional nomination to a United States military service academy. He expressed admiration for the qualifications of the students attending the event.

In response to constituent letters, Gosar addressed concerns about vaccine injuries and the responsibility of pharmaceutical companies, stating, "I am considering action, including legislation, to level the playing field by making vaccine manufacturers responsible for the injuries and harms caused by their vaccines."

Lastly, Gosar shared a photo of the week from a constituent and highlighted some of the news stories featuring him, including his vote to block the spy powers bill and his stance on various political issues.

Overall, Representative Gosar's activities this week reflect his commitment to addressing important issues such as surveillance reform, veterans' support, and outdoor recreation accessibility.
