AASA/ACT: How many Colorado City Unified District students failed their Language Arts tests during 2022-23 school year?

In the 2022-23 school year, 50% of Colorado City Unified District students failed their AASA/ACT Language Arts test, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

The 228 students who took the AASA/ACT test were assessed at four proficiency levels in each subject. Those at levels one and two failed the test, while students who reached the third and fourth proficiency levels passed the test.

Colorado City Unified District roughly covers schools within Mohave County County and has a main office in Colorado City.

In 2022 Arizona had roughly one teacher for every 19 students, compared to the national average of one teacher for 16 students. Teachers handling a higher number of students was found to have negative consequences for students’ school performance.

In 2022, average scores from Arizona students were found to be inline with the national average scores for math and reading, according to the Nation's Report Card.
