Congressman Paul A. Gosar (AZ-09) has introduced H.R. 8620, the Treasury Reserve Unveiling Memorable Portrait (TRUMP) Act, which mandates the Secretary of the United States Treasury to print $500 Federal Reserve notes featuring a portrait of former President Donald J. Trump.

Gosar issued a statement highlighting several perceived benefits of this legislation: "As Bidenflation continues to devalue our currency, the issuance of $500 bills featuring President Trump by the Treasury offers several practical advantages."

He elaborated on these advantages, noting that larger-value currency would provide Americans with more tangible options for saving and exchanging goods and services. He also pointed out that the absence of large-denomination currency encourages reliance on digital banking, which he argues is more vulnerable to surveillance and censorship.

From a collector’s perspective, Gosar emphasized that these $500 Trump bills would become highly sought after, potentially generating revenue for the government through increased demand for numismatic items. "Collectors often covet currency with unique designs and historical significance and bills featuring the very popular 45th President will attract considerable attention from collectors," he stated. He further suggested that this demand could create a market for the $500 Trump bills far beyond their face value, thereby increasing seigniorage earnings and overall government revenues.
