This Week With Gosar
June 30, 2024
As Americans prepare to celebrate the Fourth of July, Representative Paul Gosar has drawn attention to what he terms "Bidenflation," citing significant increases in food prices since January 2021. According to Gosar, the cost of common picnic items has risen dramatically due to President Biden's economic policies.
Gosar's newsletter also highlighted a recent congressional report from the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. The report alleges that top CIA officials colluded with the Biden campaign to label the Hunter Biden laptop story as "Russian disinformation." It further claims that 51 former government officials conspired to influence the 2020 presidential election by falsely claiming that the laptop was part of a Russian disinformation operation.
"The CIA betrayed the public trust with the explicit intent of protecting Joe Biden and influencing the outcome of the 2020 presidential election," states Gosar. He references polls indicating that knowledge about the laptop contents could have influenced voters' decisions, including a significant percentage of Democrats.
In judicial news, Gosar discussed a recent Supreme Court decision overturning a 40-year precedent known as the "Chevron Doctrine." The court ruled in Loper Enterprises v. Raimondo that courts can now evaluate agency rules for fairness and reasonableness, potentially curbing bureaucratic overreach.
Additionally, Julian Assange was released from prison this week after spending five years incarcerated. Gosar had previously introduced H.Res. 934, advocating for journalistic protections under the First Amendment and calling for charges against Assange to be dropped.
Gosar also announced an upcoming Social Security roundtable in Goodyear and reiterated his office's commitment to assisting constituents with various federal matters such as passport renewals and veterans' benefits.
The newsletter included samples of letters from constituents expressing diverse opinions on topics ranging from Julian Assange’s release to border security issues under President Biden’s administration.
For more information or assistance, constituents are encouraged to visit Gosar's website or contact his office directly.
