Independence Day Survey Results on Bidenflation

I hope you had a relaxing and enjoyable Fourth of July and enjoyed some delicious hamburgers and hotdogs. If you missed it, Patrick Bertoletti won the men’s title at this year’s Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest, consuming 58 hot dogs in 10 minutes. Miki Sudo retained the women’s title by eating 51 hot dogs, setting a new record. The men’s contest saw reigning champ Joey Chestnut banned from competing after training for nearly a year.

Regarding Independence Day, I included a survey in last week’s newsletter asking readers to share their thoughts on how increased costs of food and travel due to "Bidenflation" impacted their plans. Hundreds responded with the following results:

- 96% said they would stay home due to "Bidenflation."

- 2% did not mind paying more.

- 2% were unsure.

Many thanks to everyone who responded!

Supreme Court Rules Trump Has Immunity

The United States Supreme Court issued a ruling that all Presidents, including Donald J. Trump, are entitled to immunity from prosecution for official acts taken while in office. Chief Justice John Roberts stated that the President “may not be prosecuted for exercising his core constitutional powers, and he is entitled, at a minimum, to presumptive immunity from prosecution for all his official acts.” The Washington Post noted that this decision makes it unlikely that Trump will go to trial on charges related to the 2020 election.

Despite any potential impacts for Trump, the decision is not partisan as it applies equally to all Presidents regardless of politics or party affiliation.
