FOIA Request to Mohave County Recorder Office Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Mohave Today have submitted a request under the Arizona Public Records Law § 39.101 et seq. for information regarding the candidates running in the upcoming election.
The requested records include detailed information about each candidate such as their first, middle, and last names; the office they are running for; jurisdiction of the office; and party affiliation. In addition to this, we have also asked for all contact information for each candidate including their address, phone number, and email address.
As members of the media, we are involved in gathering and reporting news to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
