Red Mountain Library has a Water Use It Wisely Water Tower on display through May. It is a 16-foot pyramid comprised of 120 one-gallon jugs that represent how much water one person consumes each day in their home
There’s more to check out this month besides books and movies at the Red Mountain Library, 635 N. Power Rd. From now till May 31, the library will feature a 16-foot pyramid comprised of 120 one-gallon jugs that represent how much water one person consumes each day in their home. The display will also include free dye strip kits for toilet leak detection and many other publications for adults and kids on using water wisely (while supplies last).
Other water-related events happening at Red Mountain Library in May include:
May 13 – Ask a Master Gardener, 10 a.m. to noon. Need help with when, what, where and how to plant in Arizona? University of Arizona Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners are certified volunteers trained in gardening, landscaping, plant identification and plant problems.
May 20 – How We Use Water and Our Top Five Ways to Save It, 11 a.m. to noon. Learn how to use water efficiently. The program will cover the latest drought news, how saving water can keep more money in your pocket, how to get a free water-saving kit and more. Presented by Donna DiFrancesco of the Environmental and Sustainability Department.
May 24 – Preschool Storytime with Wayne Drop, 9:30 to 10 a.m. Councilmember Goforth will join Wayne Drop, the Water – Use It Wisely mascot, for a special storytime featuring water-related books. The program is for children ages 3 to 5.
