Chandler CIO honored as a finalist for 2023 ORBIE award

CHANDLER, Ariz. – ArizonaCIO announced the winners of its annual ORBIE awards during an event last week at the Westin Kierland Resort and Spa. Chandler’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) Sandip Dholakia was honored during the event as a finalist for the prestigious award which recognizes technology executives who have demonstrated excellence in technology leadership. Finalists are selected by an independent peer review process.

As CIO, Dholakia oversees the Information Technology Department, managing $30 million in technology infrastructure and operations for the City of Chandler. The Department is responsible for implementing and managing solutions that make it easy for residents, employees, businesses and others to interact with the City. 

Dawn Lang, Deputy City Manager and Chief Financial Officer for Chandler recognized Sandip, saying “He has bridged relationships with professionals and subject matter experts to provide technology solutions that have greatly enhanced our workforce mobility, service applications and data security. Sandip understands the important connection between managed solutions and seamless service.”

Mayor Kevin Hartke applauded the recognition saying, “Sandip Dholakia is a results-oriented, collaborative leader who provides enhanced business value through technology innovation and remains engaged in industry and community endeavors. He leads a team of professionals who are committed to ensuring the City of Chandler is a Community of Innovation.”
