CHANDLER, Ariz. - The City of Chandler has announced its service closures for the upcoming Martin Luther King, Jr./Civil Rights holiday on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024.
According to the official statement, the following city services will be affected:
- City administrative offices will be closed.
- Trash and recycling collection will continue as scheduled.
- The Recycling-Solid Waste Collection Center will be closed.
- The Chandler Tennis Center will remain open during its regular hours from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- The Tumbleweed Recreation Center will have modified holiday hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- The Chandler Nature Center, Snedigar Recreation Center, Senior Center, and downtown Community Center will be closed.
- All Chandler Public Libraries, including the Downtown, Basha, Hamilton, and Sunset branches, will be closed.
- The Chandler Museum, the box office at the Center for the Arts, and the Vision Gallery and Center for the Arts Gallery will also be closed.
In addition, lap swimming sessions at Desert Oasis, Hamilton, and Mesquite Groves aquatic centers will not be held. Please note that all other aquatic centers and pools are closed for the season.

This closure is in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr./Civil Rights holiday, which honors the legacy and contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the fight for civil rights and equality.
