The City of Chandler in Arizona is dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and reducing stigma through its Building Better Mental Health series. The second event of this series, called Embracing Wellness, will take place on Saturday, Jan. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is organized by the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Division in collaboration with Semicolon Society.
Embracing Wellness will be held at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park: Stage Plaza, located at 178 E. Commonwealth Ave in downtown Chandler. This chosen location provides an open gathering place for the community to come together and learn about the various resources available to support their wellness journey. Over 25 mental and physical health organizations will participate in the event, offering valuable information and education.
In addition to the informational booths, Embracing Wellness will also feature entertainment from local youth bands, including Blue Cheese, Malfunction, and Zero Reasons. This event aims to create a supportive and engaging atmosphere where individuals can learn, connect, and find the help they need.
The Building Better Mental Health series is an ongoing initiative that aims to increase understanding about mental health and reduce stigma through awareness, education, and advocacy. The series will conclude in May 2024 with a final event.
