MOHAVE COMMUNITY COLLEGE: MCC Radiologic Technology students’ community involvement prompts heartfelt donation

College3

Mohave Community College issued the following announcement on Dec. 26

The Mohave Community College Radiologic Technology program received a $1,000 donation that will go toward new equipment for the radiology program.

The donation was given by Noah D. Kang Jr., a Bullhead City community member, in honor of his late wife, Kazuko.  Recently, Karen Morris, a member of the nonprofit group We Care Cancer Support, and the sister of Kang, presented a check to MCC.

The Kang family was very impressed with the community support shown by members of the college radiologic technology student club, “The Skeleton Crew.”   Club members have volunteered at the nonprofit group’s Meat Bingo fundraiser, which raises donations for programs and services offered to area cancer patients.

“When we volunteer for events in our community we do it to help the community so we were very grateful that Karen Morris thought about her brother’s donation be given to our program,” said Stacey Gilbert, MCC Radiologic Technology instructor and club advisor. “We feel honored to have been given such a generous donation.”

The program was also given a plaque commemorating Kang’s wife, Kazuko “Meiki” Kang and the donation. The plaque will be display in the radiologic technology classroom.

Radiologic Technology is a high-demand career offering above-average incomes. The MCC Radiologic Technology program is accredited through the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
