Three of the incoming Arizona State football recruits for the 2021 season are in a national network's top 300 players.

Overall the Sun Devils rate 29th in ESPN's rankings of college football recruits. The school has received 16 commitments.

Cornerback Isaiah Johnson is the most highly anticipated recruit, named 182nd in the nation overall and 11th in his position.

The 6-foot-1-inch 180-pounder announced last month he was committing to coach Herm Edwards' team. He is currently a student at St. Bernard High School in California.

Edwards has further strengthened his defense with the successful pursuit of cornerback Tommi Hill, of Orlando, Florida. Hill, 6-foot-1-inch, 185 pounds, is ranked 196th in the nation, and the 12th best cornerback, according to the ESPN.

The third top recruit is wide receiver Lonyatta Alexander of Burien, Washington. He is the 300th overall in the ESPN rankings and 53rd at his position. Alexander had 16 offers from other schools, according to arizonasports.com.

ESPN noted that the Sun Devils often recruit from out of state and have added other top talent from Texas, Louisiana and California.

"A pair of three-star prospects in outside linebacker Jaydon Williams and center Ezra Oyetade were big wins out of the Lone Star State over Texas," ESPN reported. "Three-star quarterback Finn Collins and corner Robert Regan are strong [recruits] out of California.

"[Help on] on defense comes in the form of three-stars Eric Gentry, and Louisiana defensive Gharin Stansbury. Offensive line depth is increasing with three-stars Austin Barry and Isaiah Glass."

Alabama tops ESPN's recruiting list. The Crimson Tide grabbed 17 of the top 300. Other PAC-12 conference schools in the top 50 are Oregon (sixth), Southern California (13th), California (18th), Washington (21st), Utah (33rd) and Stanford (46th).
