On Wednesday, June 1st, two third grade classes from the Young Scholars Academy visited the Animal Care and Welfare Shelter to tour the facility and learn about the work we're doing to care for the animals of Bullhead City. Students were allowed to see the work van and pet a few of the cats and kittens. As a special treat, Animal Welfare Officer Cortese with the Bullhead City Police Department introduced the students to Donk, a burro that was adopted by Cortese from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Donk was rescued by the BLM when his mother abandoned him at 4 days old.
